Caring relation journal

On this particular day, I was establishing a compassionate connection with one of its indicators, who was "aggressively taking charge of following up on student absences and non-attendance." This signal assisted me in understanding the significance of why kids must attend lessons in order to do well in school. A teacher who does not verify his or her pupils' attendance is uninterested in assisting those students. I discovered that teachers who are interested in their student's attendance want to help them by encouraging them to be more active and attentive at school.

The first thing I learned from tracking kids' absences and non-attendance is that it helps me understand my obligations as a teacher to care for and encourage my pupils to attend school. I am aware that many pupils have challenges at home that may prohibit them from attending school. As a result, it is my obligation as a teacher to ensure that my pupils overcome whatever obstacles prevent them from attending school. For example, I noted that one of my students was doing well in school, but after a few weeks, he stopped coming to our lessons, and I discovered that his grades and performance were slipping. I was aware that my pupils would continue to struggle in school as a result of their constant absences. So, I assisted this kid by counseling him and offering him sound advice in order to urge him to start attending school. I was relieved since the kid was forthright in explaining why she was missing from class. In that case, I was involved in inspiring and offering good counsel to this kid in order for him to begin recognizing the value of school and attending courses. As a result, this student was able to maintain high attendance, and her performance began to improve.

The second essential thing I learned about this indication is how to prevent pupils from having poor self-esteem and being isolated from their friends. After using the indicator, I discovered that kids who are absent the most have low self-esteem and isolation because they are too hesitant to interact and share information with their classmates and instructors. This difficulty is created by absence; thus, it is my responsibility as a teacher to ensure that my pupils attend school so that they may easily participate and mingle with me and other students during conversations.

Reporting journal

I have applied reporting during my internship and learnt allot of thing from it. I assisted some of the teachers in creating a new report for term 1 (2022) and was happy to learn good things from that experience.

Firstly, I learnt that it was time consuming and stressful because creating a report is not very easy task. There are lots of important things to consider when creating a report so it is important to not miss out any of those things.

Secondly, composing a report is an extremely intricate undertaking. Compiling a list of pupils' strengths and shortcomings is not the only task. In order for reporting excellent and bad outcomes to be effective, teachers must be sensitive, diplomatic, straightforward, and honest. To make sure that parents and pupils understand what is being said, every word must be carefully considered.

Literacy and Numeracy Journal

During this time I was teaching a moral education lesson to my students. Literacy and numeracy were part of the lesson that I was doing at that time because, by the end of the lesson, students could define the meaning of literacy and numeracy, list down examples of literacy and numeracy, and explain why literacy and numeracy are important to understand for their choices in real life situations.

I let the students work in pairs to define the meaning of literacy and numeracy, and then I gave them their task to think of literacy and numeracy are important when they go to the shops to buy things. The students came up with lots of ideas and they mentioned those in their given activities. for example, the first group mentioned that numeracy is important to understand because when they go to the store they calculate the money and cost of the things that they want to buy. The other groups mentioned that literacy is important to them when going to the store because they have to read the information and expiry dates of the things that they want to buy from the shop. Those students realized the importance of learning about literacy and numeracy is important to help them when dealing with different situations in their daily lives.

I learned that teaching numeracy and literacy is important because numbers and readings come in everything that we do every day. The students learn the significance of numeracy when they do their own budgets, expenses, and calculations when dealing with money. Also, students learned that literacy is important because reading information, and writing come everyday when they want to know different things that they deal with.

Report journal

I attended one of the parent interviews and was very happy to spend the time. It was a short interview with the parents that took 10-15 minutes with each of the parents and guardians of the students. I was happy to meet face to face my students' parents and talk a lot about their children's performances in school. While I was having my interviews with the parents I learned that lots of the parents do not know about their children's behaviors and results in schools. There are many parents who worked and got exhausted to listen with their children on how's school. I understand this is the main reason why lots of students continue not making good efforts in school. So, I had to give some simple and good advice to the parents who suggested on what my opinion to help them with dealing with their children's weaknesses. I told some parents to make an effort every weekend to check and counsel their children about school.

During that day, I was happy to make plans with the parents on how to help their children in some of their areas of weakness. For example, most of my students in my class do not like to speak in English, and they find it very difficult to stand up and communicate using English, especially during presentations. I learned that students are afraid to speak in English not because they can't speak it but because they are afraid of being mocked by others. Some of the parents were ready to help their children practice speaking in English at home in order for their children to find it easy to use the language in school.

Journal on Evaluation

At the end of term one, 2023, at Animwarao Jss, I was delighted to be assigned the duty of preparing statistical data as an evaluation for my year seven social science students from the yellow. I was glad because during that time I learned new things about how to work with Excel, which allows me to insert the names of my students and prepare a graph for me to see how many of my students accomplished or did not achieve the learning outcomes. I learned that using Excel for data gathering and evaluation was a novel way that seemed tough at first but was later found to be quick and beneficial in generating an evaluation for my pupils.

After completing my evaluation, I created a graph demonstrating that the majority of my students earned the first learning outcome, while some of my students achieved the last learning outcome. At this time, I realized that I needed to focus more on the final learning outcomes in order to help my students improve their scores for the final learning outcomes. Also, my statistic assessment graph informed me that my pupils struggle to compose their own paragraphs, which is why those students find the final section of the learning outcome difficult to complete. I had to come up with various innovations that I wanted to employ to help my students, such as giving some paragraph writing suggestions to my students and demonstrating more on how to conduct paragraph writing.

Report Journal

At Boutokan te Paradise JSS, I had intended to write my school report for my year seven students at the end of the first term. Since this was my first time writing a student report, I was unsure of how to go about it. I therefore needed assistance and advice. I initially believed it would be a simple assignment to complete, but as I go through it, I realize how challenging it is. The first issue I encountered when writing the report was not knowing what to say about my kids' academic improvement. I asked for assistance from other instructors so that I can learn from them how to make remarks that are easy for parents to understand regarding how well their children are doing in school.

It gives parents a simple approach to learn what they need to know about their kids' schoolwork. Additionally, it is crucial for me to provide compliments to students who behave well in class, and this information should be included in the report's opening section.

In my school reports, parents frequently ask for my advice because they seek ideas they can utilize to strengthen their children's areas of weakness.

I have discovered that when writing school reports, I do not have enough time to discuss or go over the subject areas included in the curriculum and the learning requirements. To illustrate how the students were doing with the curriculum, I utilized what was previously written in the curriculum and learning standard documents, used the phrases that were already available, and put ticks where the students had accomplished or hadn't.

I've seen instruction on how to describe students' work accurately. For instance, I used the adjectives "hardworking, eager, attentive, thoughtful, and unmotivated" to describe the student's attitude in class. I utilized these many terms to characterize students' attitudes so that parents would understand how their children act at school.

My Journal on Ethics and Values

I did a great job in discovering about Ethics and Values in one of my teaching delievery where I was teaching year level 7 Green, Animarao Jss. During my lesson delivery I tried to model strong character traits, including honest, respect, repect and fairness in order to achieve the indicators of Ethics and Values for my students. Teachers have a responsibility to each student, without any preference, prejudice, or partiality, treat them with care and respect (PGU, T. (2022).

Firstly, our class started at 8:30 am and I presented at 8:25 which is five minutes earlier. It is for me to show punctuality which is the first most important part of Ethics and values. Students were very happy to see me coming early before their class and I was also very happy to show punctuality so that my students will also do the same good behavior. I felt serious to my job and also felt confident because I was aware of any issues from my students and was ready to find solutions because of coming on time. For example; when I came in my some of my students weren't ready with having pens to write with so I had to find spare pens for them to borrow and return before starting our lesson.

secondly, I apply Ethics and values by telling the truths to students. For example: I provided a quiz at the end of our lesson and and tells the truth to students that I will return their quiz papers tomorrow. I even was being honest to them by saying that I will give feedbacks on their activities which I did that and students were very happy to receive their feedbacks on time and knows their errors and what to improve in their activities.

furthermore, at the beginning of our class we made a rule that all should completed their given tasks. However, I saw that at the end of the class there were many of the students who did not completed their individual activity while some completed on time their task. This was a call for me to apply equal treatments among my students because I saw that some students obeyed but some did not. In order for me to fair I let my students who completed their tasks to go out and for those who did not complete their tasks to stay behind and completed the task.

In my lesson plan, I included reminders of Ethics and values for me to carry out my lesson and remember what I should for delivering Ethics and values in my lesson.
